Rattles and 12 month warranty
Currently got my MY24 110 D250 XS in at Sytner Northampton to investigate a rattle on the drivers side B pillar...

Just been called back saying rattles are only covered for 12 months and have to approve a £240 inspection fee for it even to be looked at. Anyone come across this before?

Sadly this is the 7th time it's been in - 3 shortly after collection as bits from the PDI were missed, again for an engine misfire/ judder (still un-fixed with the dealer blaming the tires), screen going blank, falling off mudflaps (which they refused to touch as they're aftermarket which is fair enough) and now again for rattles and also the screen which has just started flickering.

Love the car and accept all cars have niggles but its the service that's really letting them down. Great up until a deposit was taken but ever since (waiting on delivery, collection and everything since) has been so poor 😢

Regarding judder / misfire: I have something similar going on. They found some fault Codes connected to oxygen sensor (lambda probe), having these replaced in 3 weeks.
To me that sounds ds like a reasonable explanation for the judder…

Standard practice for Sytner Northampton…… they are useless…… you have a fight every time you go in…. Even if you’ve booked and waited 3 weeks, they still want to charge you more. I could go on, but Ive better things to do, I wasted enough time with them. Sold the car, Laughing
The patronising service receptionist even told me we’d brought the wrong vehicle Rolling Eyes Laughing not bad considering they’d sold it us Whistle

Unbelievable

Can you not take the vehicle somewhere else? Even if you have to pay. That £240 charge to look at it would be four hours labour at my local Land Rover independent specialist. Probably enough time for a traditional technician to find and cure those faults.

Yeah that's the plan - get it looked at elsewhere

They're now ordering a new IDMA (display module) for the screen as apparently it failed a 'PIVI check' - another 2 month wait although covered by the warranty this time. Hoping no CCF changes will get overwritten / defaulted as part of that..
