Replacing clutch slave cylinder
Is replacing a slave cylinder as simple as,

Remove fluid pipe
Remove the two nuts
Remove slave and leave the pushrod behind

Fit new slave and slide it over the pushrod
Bolt in place
Attach pipe and bleed? 1999 Defender TD5 110

Consider a full length braided pipe upgrade from Pioneer 4x4?....

You will after you've struggled with the bracket and the rubber hose 😂

Maybe worth adding the LOF slave to the braided hose upgrade…

I decided to order just the short hose to replace the rubber hose. Then its all new stuff.
New master.
New slave.
New flexi hose. 1999 Defender TD5 110

Well.
The spare I had was FTC5072 which is for TDi/R380.
The one for TD5/R380 is FTC5202 - which I didn’t have. How ever, I remembered there was a Landy parts dealer not from me.
I popped in yesterday afternoon and he was closed. Ended up chatting to the chap in the unit next door from Ultra metalwork - make bulkheads, tubs, doors for land rovers

Anyways, I popped back in this morning and picked up FTC5202 TRW slave cylinder.

I also had the Pioneer4x4 flexi hose which I was going to fit, but trying to remove the hard-line to flexi connector it soon became apparent it could only go one way and something was going to snap. I decided I didnt need any more headaches and managed to remove the flexi hose and metal pipe from the slave.

Removed the two 10mm bolts and as I carefully removed the slave, clutch fluid leaked out from the bellhousing/clutch slave gearbox mount....well that aint right..I think I found the reason why I was losing clutch fluid the bellhousing was drinking it.

Refitted the new one and reattached the metal/flexi hose.
Re-bled the clutch and a quick test drive and it appears OK. 1999 Defender TD5 110
