The Nanocom alarm is set too low, and gets people worrying. What you have experienced temperature wise is normal and nothing to be concerned about. Seeing temps up to 100c is ok and normal. That is how the system wants. A diesel wants to be at about 90c, and pushed will raise to 110c which for short periods is ok.
The fact the bottom hose was cold is showing your system is working perfectly
