I can only speak of our P300e, we just leave it in Hybrid... Even when it says its empty is still re-gens so will still drive in EV every now and again. we average 250+ mpg for the EV part (in ours 35 miles) and then the extra miles it averages it out, so in your case say 65 miles at 30mpg. I tried messing about with it, doesn't seem to do any benefit. I guess if you know your driving to a city you could save a few miles so when in said city your in nice emission free. |

In a RRS P440e Hybrid mode stretches EV range by about 5 miles over pure EV mode. I'm guessing the ICE picks up the heavier lifting on hills etc and more EV cruising. Interesting to watch but probably not significant in day to day usage. RRS comes on in EV so I just leave it be (appreciating P400e may be different software from P440e).
