Advice after a puncture
I had a puncture yesterday and I had to use my spare. I have done around 8k miles on the set of tyres. The spare is a brand new tyre. Am I ok to run with the new tyre on one side and a worn tyre on the other axle (Rear Axle) or do I need to put the repaired tyre back on? ( As it has been repaired I was going to now keep this as my spare) Hope this makes sense.

In my experience repaired tyres do not have any difference in terms of long-term durability compared to non-repaired. If I were you I'd swap it back on.

If I were you I would rotate the wheel/ tyres on a regular basis , including the spare if it’s a full size wheel and tyre. Else you end up with a old unused spare that you eventually change out due to age.

l think the O/P may be asking if it's okay to use a tyre which will have a slightly different size due to it being new.

This could be an issue on the old Freelander. However l don't think it's an issue on the Defender. After all, if the tyre could not be repaired what would you do then you'd have to fit a new one.

Bizarrely l also had my first puncture yesterday and had to fit the spare, which is new. The rest of the wheels will have done around 10,000 miles.

When l get the tyre repaired l will put it back on the vehicle, only because when l eventually do need tyres l can use the spare as one of them.
