United Kingdom 2015 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 XS CSW Aintree Green
Kumho AT52, 235/85 R16
Like many that struggle to justify the cost of BFGs these days, I've been looking elsewhere for a tyre to replace the original tyres on the 110. The Continental ATs had done everything I need, but have been unevenly worn and noisy for a few years. That and them not being 3PMSF rated was the reason for not getting the same again.

I settled on Kumho RoadVenture AT52. Finding pictures of them in the correct size or fitted to a Defender was difficult so I've attached a few below for reference if anyone is considering AT options.

The tyre was new in 2022 and is a latest generation design with 3PMSF winter rating, important for winter travel in Europe now. The range is mostly P metric (passenger) but the Defender sized 235/85 R16 is an LT tyre (Light Truck) with heavier construction and a slightly deeper tread depth of 12mm. Load rating 120/116 and speed 'S' are also ideal for most Defenders.
They've only just been fitted, so I can't say what they're like in the wet, snow, or how they wear.
Compared to the worn Continentals they're so much quieter at all speeds and the steering response does feel quicker.
Cost was £130 each delivered from Black Circles, that's around £100 each less than a BFG AT3 would be.
Time will tell with everything else.

Typical void between the blocks is 5 to 10mm.

They don't looks too bad, have run Kumho tyres before, just not this tread.

I'd say, they are styled "like" a BFG KO, but are actually quite a bit more road biased with much smaller lug separation. I'd expect them to be as good or maybe even slightly better on road, but less capable off road.
