Since it is free and very easy to execute, I would update it, you don't have to lose anything and you would win some details!! Defender 110 SE I6 D250 23MY

Thanks for the Link
I know my subscription has expired as I keep getting a reminder every bloody week it seems on the Home Screen! Why the hell they can't take a hint that I don't want to renew and stop sending reminders? I wondered if the subscription may have only related to OTA map updates, but obviously you still need a valid subscription to do it manually too. Thanks though Current: MY22 P400e SE Prior: Discovery Sport HSE, Jaguar F-Type S, Discovery 3, RR Vogue |

I don't know why you say all that, I assume that the initial question talks about a 25MY therefore, its service is still fully valid... therefore, I think it would be a shame not to do the corresponding update. Defender 110 SE I6 D250 23MY

As I understand it, maps update automatically for the country you are in, so if you go to France they should update, assuming you've a suitable internet connection, etc. So a manual update of the maps while you are still at home would probably be worth it. Also, I think it has been mentioned on here before: the subscription service covers the Connected Navigation whereas the ability to upgrade the maps will always be available even when you're out of subscription (happy to be corrected on this if appropriate

The uk ones update (in the uk). Go into settings, navigation, map info (or something like that) and it will tell you when they last updated MY25 D350 Defender 110 X, Carpathian Grey, 7 Seat, Electric Towbar

Just a bit of out-of-the-box thinking:
Yes, up-to-date maps are useful in France. BUT, my kids use their 'phones, only yesterday afternoon we were stuck in the Le Lavandou flooding (two dead) and couldn't use the coast road home; my son's real-time 'phone maps immediately showed it as blocked and suggested an alternative route over the mountains. Would/could Land Rover's in-built system do the same? Peter |

Yep I find the Land Rover system to be very good at 'live' traffic and road updates etc - comparable around London to Apple or Google Maps for example.
I think the mapping companies exchange traffic data behind the scenes somehow (it's not only reliant on info from Land Rover vehicles...) Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |
