Question regarding how to install a proper secondary fusebox
Hi all,

So I have a few things like the new radio unit, reverse camera, lights,.. that run off of engine-on power.

For this, I have done maybe not so clean things? I have used fuse piggybacks from the existing fusebox to tap into for example the cigarette lighter and some cables I have clipped piggypack clips into them so they split into two cables for powering stuff. Also there might be a few wago clips in there from the old owner that I don't really trust.

I am thinking I should reverse this and put in one of those black sea fuse boxes for accesoires so everything is properly hooked up. Hooking new stuff up to the battery itself is kinda easy.. but I have no idea how I can run this fuse box off of engine-on power only.

Any insights?

You'll need 1 ignition switched live to trigger a relay which will then provide ignition switched power to your fuse box straight from the battery 👍

And for that relay-control wire there's nothing wrong with a (proper) fuse piggy back.
Nowadays I even prefer Wagos over crimps sometimes ("indoor" environment), provided it´s an original Wago 221. They're proven to be vibration proof.

Bluesea Systems fuse boxes are good, as are Durite HD Relays.

There are many possibilities with what you can do, Ti suit what you want to fit.

Personally I’d look at a BS 12 way ATO fuse version with negative buss.

Amazon US, used to have excellent deals on those, but there are re-sellers elsewhere too. _\Hennessey|Venom| F5/___
