Looks lovely! Enjoy. I had a good sit in one at the CV Show att he NEC recently and I was surprised how car-like the driving position was. The floor seemed high, or the seat low compared to a Defender.
I must say though, your first point is a generalisation, I do wave at Grenadiers, but then I do wave at Disco 1 and 2s as well. maybe it's a solid front axle that gets me animated. I wonder what would happen if I saw a 70 series Land Cruiser? 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS |

A great looking Grenadier Blackwolf, if there was a 7 seat option I would be very tempted myself.

I have such a soft spot for these. I’d have one if I moved the Defender on. It’s a Defender with more safety etc in my eyes. 2008 2.4 110 Utility Station Wagon XS.

It has been said (to me, several times, by others) that it is the vehicle that Land-Rover should have built to replace the classic Defender. I actually disagree! Sadly if LR had built it I don't think it would have been half as good as it is. Similarly it has been widely written that Jim Ratcliffe tried to buy the old Defender production line and carry on with the classic Defender. Again, I really don't think that you could have built a vehicle as good as the Grenadier unless you started from scratch. Don't get me wrong, I love my Puma and have no plans to get rid of it and it still makes me smile, but the Grenadier is without doubt its spiritual successor. The Grenadier is not by any means a vehicle for everyone and is definitely not an "SUV" (thank goodness)! |

Very nice. ![]() I admit, I went and drove them again, this time at Biscester Motion a couple of weeks ago. Previously I'd driven the diesel on road, this time it was the petrol. And I was won over. I'd go for either really, but the petrol, despite being used for demo drives was returning over 20mpg. Which is more than good enough in my opinoin. They had a diesel for the off road course, which was just under 20mpg. They really are the definition of my ideal vehicle. They is only one issue..... I can't afford one ![]() ![]() Hoping they'll drop another £10k really, either that or I need to come into some money. Hope you enjoy yours, it looks great. ![]() |

I love the switchgear, its all pretty clear and obvious. But it is. vehicle with many features, so well worth learning what they all do and why. I'm also sure you'd get very used to the switches you use often. |

Congratulations on the new truck!
It sounds like the ideal spec I would have gone for, petrol and locking diffs. Hope all goes well and look forward to your updates. ![]() |

In due course one of the new Red Winches mounts may appear on the front, incorporating a receiver hitch. I've already put together a demountable rear winch, it would have been rude not to since the vehicle is prewired for one! ![]() The BFG KO3s were factory fit, one day they may become KM3s or similar, they're fine for now. |

I’m wondering if you can fit a nato pintle , and would it be type approved, I assume not but a a Penman would look equally at home behind the Grenadier as it does behind a defender.
Ps. portal axles ? .. if only they were not so expensive ![]() |

The portal version is awesome but VERY expensive, I suspect has a reduced payload (still 3500kg MAM) and really isn't suitable for everyday use. I'd buy one in a shot if I was footballer-wealthy but I'm not!
![]() I see no reason why you couldn't fit a NATO pintle legally. The hitch mount is drilled for both BSau24 and BS ISO 1103:2007 (formerly BSAU114s) fittings (i.e. four hole and two hole couplings) and I've fitted a type-approved DB ladder. A TA pintle can therefore be fitted but might be a bit low, really it needs to be at bumper level. |
