110 Defender Crewcab to Soft Top - sound insulation?
Is it worth sound insulating all the floors before the carpet and seats go back in for a soft top conversion?

The opportunity will be there when everything is out for painting etc such as seats, carpets and so on

I would, most of the noise comes from underneath - gearbox tunnel, bulkhead and seat boxes would be my priority, followed by the boxes above the back wheels. Any hole or gap will let the sound pass through, much like closing a house window when there's a noise outside. 1983 110 automatic OM606

Thanks for the reply, sounds completely logical.

Does anyone have any thoughts on replacement carpet, choices are to purchase a kit OR buy some automotive carpet.

What type of automotive carpet have members used please.
