Which Polish / Wax to keep the crap off
Can anyone recommend a polish or wax or whatever that is good at keeping the mud and grunge at bay off the paintwork?

I did do a search but the best thread was back in 2017, and I know this area has moved on leaps and bounds. Jumped ship to reliability - Mitsubishi L200

Graphene is now the new wonder additive to waxes and sprays. I’ve just ordered some Turtle Wax Ceramic & Graphene after reading good reviews.

Autoglym sure resin polish two or three times a year with Autoglym rapid detailer in between, say four times a year. Garaging is a big plus if you can.

Auto Finesse Graphene Wax

Though Diomyx 4 in 1 is pretty good spray on wipe and buff.

If you want the ultimate, then ceramic coat it. I use Gtechniq. About £160 direct from them. All about the prep, and you’ll do it in a day. A decent wax will cost you a£10, put you’ll be reapplying it every 4-6 weeks. Ceramic will last you 2 years minimum. Basically nothing sticks, and it just washes off, I’m a convert…… all the rapid wax products are temporary and will last 2 weeks. It’s what they use at the bucket fits all car washes…. Oh and traffic film remover Rolling Eyes steer clear of that. I’ve literally just washed mine Whistle

Blast with snow foam, quick wash and dry sorted. Takes me longer to clean the wheels

Thank you all for the insights, much appreciated.

@barbeljim, that is one peachy motor you have, but the price of that Gtechniq stuff is worth more than my motor. Jumped ship to reliability - Mitsubishi L200

Embarassed Thank you…. She’s a workhorse, 240k on the clock and 20 years old. All original paint, bar the cappings . The ceramic really makes a difference imo.

I use this on my daughter’s car….. really really easy to apply, and works for 10-12 weeks. Around £14 iirc, and refills around a £10. It basically puts a barrier between paint and the muck you then attract. IMO works better than the rapid wax/shine, but not up to a wax standard. But only takes 5 mins to apply Whistle you literally attach to a hose, spray it on and rinse off Thumbs Up
