You need a "Diagnostic" subscribe plan... and obviously you need a original Bosch VCI...

Spoke to dealer today upon return from visit to UK. Explained the following issues:
When running in electric in Hybrid mode the petrol engine would suddenly engage randomly and refuse to go back into electric Car drops out of EV mode as soon as the A/C or heater turned on. (had this problem before and they replaced HT Heater) Alert that I needed to start motor to charge battery, even though I'd just driven 1,200km the previous day. When pure EV mode is selected it still uses petrol engine and the EV icon on the IDD is grey rather than blue Frequent alerts that the SOS system is partially unavailable He has immediately said that the Hybrid battery is the issue and he will order a replacement. Therefore this must be a know issue for them to have immediately volunteered to replace battery without even seeing the vehicle (though its been in twice in the previous 3 months for the same issues). Glad I got the 5 year warranty! Current: MY22 P400e SE Prior: Discovery Sport HSE, Jaguar F-Type S, Discovery 3, RR Vogue |

Today my Dealer confirm the Hybrid Battery Pack "A" Deterioration and the Land Rover has approved the replacement with warranty. A new Traction Battery code number 431123457 was ordered... No idea about the time of delivery..... maybe 2/3 month.... The replacement cost would be 12.583 + VAT (22% in Italy) + installation (welcome warranty 😅). But.. 70.000 KM in 3.5 Years and the battery is gone........ NO COMMENT... |

Took the car in today to have main batteries replaced. The dealer confirmed that the batteries have a separate 8 YEAR manufacturers warranty, so that's a bit more reassuring! Current: MY22 P400e SE

Wow 8 years, sounds good, till you realize that my Td5 Defender is 22 years old, my RR P38 24 years old and my Disco 4 10 years old. All happily driving along without that worry. Oh and my Series 3 now 55 years old but lets not count that one as daily transport..
I appreciate that times move on and 'something needs to change', and ensure our collective future, but for me I rather we would move to something simpler and sustainably, rather than complex and vulnerable |

Hello,
I have a question because I have a p400e, can you use the vehicle in ICE mode with an HV battery and a BECM out of service? |

Short answer: NO.
The HV battery is used at start up and cranking the engine. Electric water pump as well together with ac compressor. And the HV battery is the charger to the 12v battery. If the becm is off line , the car will not start up. This set up is common to all the plug in hybrid cars… not just Land Rover. |

Thank you for your answer.
That's what it seemed to me, but I read that some owners have an intermittent P0A7f dtc indicating defective BECM and can still drive in ICE mode is that what I don't understand? Maybe this is possible until the HV battery is completely empty? I have training on electric cars at «Révolte» in France and on an electric car indeed if the BECM is defective the car does not drive because the BECM cannot communicate with the HV battery and control temperature, cell tension the inveter EPIC or the BCCM charger for safety it puts the car out of service. What I didn't know was if it was the same as a PHEV. |
