Possibly a blocked axle/diff breather. That’s what caused a similar issue for me. Assume it’s to do with different pressures inside and outside causing blow by.

Check wheel bearings don’t have any play and are overheating the grease.

You’re missing the hub cap, which is why it’s leaked out.
Get genuine replacements, the aftermarket ones are terrible. |

i do actually have the plastic hub cap, just removed it for the photo. The grease makes it way past the hub cap which i don't think is normal.

Then it needs replacement, it should be a fairly tight fit and a good seal.

Get a genuine cap, they are more expensive but they don't leak.
