Chris86 IMHO having owned both the Defender and an AMG G the Defender is a better off road vehicle whilst being extremely good on road than the G - you need to own one and use it to appreciate it properly Thumbs Up

Also cost comes into the equation and for the cost of a decent D250 Defender you will need a big chunk-a change on top to buy a G.

As for the Octa, I have decided itโ€™s not for me as the gimmick options are for those that wish to try and impress as opposed to use it properly as I said above.

Moo, all marques do special versions along the way so not sure what you are saying, just that some have more history than others and celebrate the longevity that few can compare to! Gas, Grass Or Ass - Nobody Rides For Free

I just think these versions are for a certain type, but hey ho we're all different.

As for 'special' editions, the 007 Defender and Tomb Raider spring to mind. Very easily forgotten.

Anyway, it's not for me. I buy a car to use and use it for what it was designed for. Eiger Grey MY23 D250 SE with bits. Known as Noddy.

Agreed.

But only because we will never be able to buy a 464 military/governmental.

A g professional is the one vehicle id happily trade the 110 for.

According to a friend who went to the event in NY last month, there is a LOT of really cool features on the OCTA. Think of OCTA like a Ford F-150 Raptor - capable of doing 100+ mph over rough terrain. 35" tires with 20 or 22" rims, Bowler-esque front end with the large grille, dual raised air intakes, an extra 4" of ground clearance, full underbody skid plates and more. BMW V8 is producing the same 626 hp from the SV, and the seats have the massage and vibrators like the SV, as well as forged carbon fiber trim on the interior and exterior and only a couple colors will be available. It has a completely redesigned rear bumper to fit the 35" tires. Pricing is around $150k. There will be 90 and 130 versions coming down the road. ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ ๐ƒ๐ž๐Ÿ๐ž๐ง๐๐ž๐ซ ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ ๐’ ๐๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ (Pangea Green over Acorn/Lunar)

looks like the OCTA is made for the American market only "predominantly"
Yes there will be some in UK, but very few.

only 1000 units have been earmarked for the US market. ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ ๐ƒ๐ž๐Ÿ๐ž๐ง๐๐ž๐ซ ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ ๐’ ๐๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ (Pangea Green over Acorn/Lunar)

According to LR at the event in the UK the Octa is only available in the 110 and not the 90 or 130 Rolling Eyes

Also, the wheels/tyre dictate the top speed depending on what you order and the front end is just a 6mm plate made from Aluminium that is coated in some form of โ€œscratch resistantโ€ material lol - very similar to the existing 6mm Aluminium plate.

The towing eye is visible and looks much stronger so they must expect it to get stuck and as for the carbon fibre trim, itโ€™s only available on the โ€œoff roadโ€ version and not the std Octa but I really did not like it as itโ€™s almost like carbon fibre on steroids Whistle

IMHO all very disappointing but I am sure the engine will perform much better than the old V8 Thumbs Up Gas, Grass Or Ass - Nobody Rides For Free
