TD5 noise
I'm about to travel to inspect a 1999 Td5 110 for purchase. The seller has sent me video with the engine running.

Can anyone advise the squeeling noise heard, possibly an idler pulley or tensioner pulley bearing gone bad? Non-AC Defender.

Cheers
Alex

It's just been washed so could just be as simple as water on the belt judging by the amount in the engine cover 110 Td5 Ex Utilities slowly converting into a pop top camper one day

Thanks, apparently the noise has been this way for a few weeks or more.

Possibly just old drive belt. Certainly wouldn’t concern me.

Bit late but I would say Aux belt and idlers need changing.
