Manual swap to automatic
Hello, I bought 110 99' td5 with broken engine. I'm looking for new engine and thinking to put autobox, is that possible and what else I need beside autobox

Thank you

Ashcroft transmission do a conversion kit using the ZF auto box from a Td5 discovery not cheap but it can be done 110 Td5 Ex Utilities slowly converting into a pop top camper one day

The best thing I have done to my Landy, so much more relaxed driving... supposed to be better off road, but I haven't tried that yet.

I have a Stage 2 tune, that helps, with cruise control, happily sits at 70 mph on the motorway.

Bit far for you, but Ashcroft did my conversion, looks factory... I'm sure you could get someone local to fit heir kit... recommend the larger torque converter.

Enjoy!

My opinion is that it is without doubt the best modification to a defender which will transform the vehicle both on and off road, especially with some engine power upgrades at the same time.

Time to fit an M57 and 6 speed auto then 😁 you won't look back.

I second that. M57 with an auto box is the way forward. 2008 Defender 110 XS SW - M57N2 / 6HP28X
