New galvanised chassis and bulkhead fitted.
The 110 200 tdi had some work done to it.

The initial plan was for a chassis change plus other stuff that came to light. Well as you can see quite a lot of other needed attention. Once the bulkhead came into the equation the initial rough costing not only went out of the window, it fly to America with a first class ticket.
Copious amounts of blue smoke indicated some engine work too as you can see by the parts fitted.
Can't really complain after 34 years and one rear cross member change in that time.
Wonder how many New Defenders will get the same pick me up treatment in 34 years? 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

That's the way it goes generally, one thing leads to another and like you mentioned, the budget goes out the window, to America Laughing You can never complain the amount it costs as what you get back in return is priceless Very Happy
