iPhone 15 won't connect to Puma Alpine
Tried everything, cannot get these two to talk via BT. Worked fine with old iPhone 13 running same OS. Short of taking the factory fitted Alpine out has anyone got any ideas?

Hi.

On the JVC in my TD5, my wife connects her Iphone via the USB slot in the front and not Bluetooth.

My Sony Xperia connects via Bluetooth.

I think that it is a hang up from the Ipod days, i am sure someone more tech savvy will give a more accurate answer.

Car play in the wife's Velar was the same until a past update.

I hope that helps

When you say everything, I assume you have deleted the existing iPhone 13 and then tried to search for the iPhone 15? I wondered if they have the same name and it is messing things up.

Doesn't make any sense if they are running the same OS? I feel your pain.

My iPhone 12 has days where it doesn't want to connect to my Alpine head unit via bluetooth. I have no idea why? It frustrates the hell out of me. I keep threatening to change the head unit but there always seems to be something more interesting to spend money on.

I don't know about these things, but a quick Google tells me the 13 is running Bluetooth 5.0 and the 15 is 5.3. I am assuming that the poor old Alpine might not support it?

You may find this article interesting. From a Quick Look, Bluetooth should be backward compatible but there are expectations that there may be some compatibility issues with Bluetooth 5.3.

Not a fix, but it might explain your issues.

After launching iOS 17.4.1 last week, Apple has released a small update in macOS 14.4.1 that contains numerous bug fixes that have plagued Mac users during the month of March. Appleā€™s release notes state that the following bugs have been addressed in the update:

USB hubs connected to external displays may not be recognized.
Copy-protected Audio Unit plug-ins designed for professional music apps may not open or pass validation.
Apps that include Java may quit unexpectedly.
