Headlights
Driving back from France my Main Beam stopped working .
I was able to use Highbeam only by hold back the stalk .
Any ideas what might have happen ?
Could it need a new stalk ?
Thanks for any replies.

Yes, it’s likely to be the pins on the stalk are burnt out or worn, possibly both.

Do you use a headlight loom such as LandReiziger?
If not, then it’s more likely the stalk has its pins burnt out as the current load is higher through the contacts.
I’d suggest taking in a look to see what is going on there, if you activate the main beam stalk in the manner that you had the headlights not working then you’ll immediately see the appropriate contacts to look at you can temporarily bypass those contacts for testing purposes and if your main beam headlights then work you’ll know the stalk needs replacing.
