Flexi Brake Lines
I have a project in the garage that I'm slowly working on. It's a Polaris 425 6x6 quad with tipping rear bed.
It's sat for a few years, the frame is very good but the tipping box is shot. Needs a new one built.
But I am struggling with, every now and again when I turn the ignition off, the engine continues to run, I then block the air intake and it stalls out. Would it reasonable of my thought process to think it's the ignition switch that is faulty?
Secondly, the farmer who had it before me couldn't get any pressure in the brakes so fitted new calipers but in the process rounded off every brake union in the whole system. There are only flexi lines and Ploaris doesn't make/stock these anymore. So I'm after making them myself.
Is there a sensibly priced kit that would facilitate me in making flexi pipes? Google isn't helping at the minute. 110 D250 SE HT

Have a chat with Pirtek , they have a branch in Westbury https://www.pirtek.co.uk/service-centres/westbury/, they stock many parts and can make bespoke hoses for most hydraulic applications.

With the quad being so old I have no idea of the thread pattern for each union.
I had hoped to either biuy a kit that allows me to make my own unions or take it somewhere and just give them my current lines and they just give me a new set that I could just fit 110 D250 SE HT

@ John P. Not knowing what Polaris used in the late 90's is the issue. If I could be 100% sure what thread they used it would be easier. 110 D250 SE HT

What about getting a gauge to check?

https://www.mfcp.com/our-blog/bid/76568/Th...rake-Lines

As part of my tap&die set I have a metric gauge to check thread pitch. Maybe you can get something to check the thread pitch and diameter? I suspect this won't be easy, as I had a job trying to identify some non metric threads. Big Cry

Should it be stopped via a fuel cutoff solenoid? I think it probably is, and that is where I would start my checks.

Certainly 300Tdis have one on the back of the fuel pump, and I’d imagine the 200s as well. It should be an easy enough thing to check. At one point my car started ‘hesitating’ - the fuel solenoid wire was barely connected. Crimped on a new connector and the problem disappeared completely.

In the Bosch VE pump (tdis at least) the solenoid allows the engine to run. I guess it could also be configured to cut the fuel delivery on power off…? But the key term there is ‘guess’ - sorry I hadn’t realised this wasn’t a Landy Embarassed Donald

Yes. And the more basic the application the more chance of having one.
