“From what I can gather, this last week has seen a situation in Dublin whereby generators were being used to charge EV buses. It boggles the mind to think that anyone could say this is progress.
You couldn't make up a story like that! Using diesel generators to charge up green buses.  |

And yet, when a certain large and global excavator manufacturer company, made in GB, talks about hydrogen and their electric machines for niche small site use.
Suddenly that doesn’t matter - “How dare you!”. 
I do know their tractor sales are going well here in my area, especially popular for ploughing and telehandlers. I do like the Fastrac, there is some nice resto vids on YouTube. There is a distinct essence of complete lack of common sense with these activists, where the common part, of common sense doesn’t even factor in. Perhaps it’s all that milking of oats and consuming all of that which does it, causing the cognitive decline. 
After all, they did say they were embracing their wacky side. 
Perhaps we can get them to cultivate the fields again by hand, to be clean and green? If they know the difference between a spade and shovel? |

There is a push on in the EU to get manufacturers to make goods that last longer and are repairable. Yet the same crowd will be demonising the traditional Land Rover. It is about as long lasting and repairable as you can get, 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Very true, and 200k miles + is common. And typically that’s around double the average vehicle lifetime.
Look at many trucks in the US, or rest of the world too of similar nature to our Defenders. They also have an incredible lifespan compared to the throwaway vehicles, and often the smaller they are they don’t last either. Though the classic mini does, but only because passionate owners completely rebuild or store them properly with dedication. Unlike the activists which will put screenwash in the engine oil. Or perhaps brake fluid in the washer bottle. The possibilities are endless.. Many of the cars built just ten years ago are already scrapped, and many are made not to be maintained deliberately. |

All of that energy in getting materials, processing them, manufacturing and distributing those cars is not factored into the "GREEN" equation. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Exactly, and the processing of the fluids, tyres and more.
And most of that is powered by diesel machinery anyway, and then the mining of the raw materials in the first place and the disposal of the waste product that can’t be recycled. And the diabolical battery bus scandal appears to be international: https://www.foxbusiness.com/politics/north...s-dont-run It’s a known problem of disposing of EV vehicles after a fire, or even dealing with a fire as they’ll re-ignite after being extinguished also. And one of the countries with most mining production capability of mining materials and raw land stocks to provide it is China. Perhaps the reason for COVID’s development, to cause harm to other nations economies and to overthrow them. In fact they appear to be wanting to buy businesses and land around the world. And then there is the shipping cost and nautical miles covered and the emissions with that, and yet no protests? Nor protests where general shipping has to go around South Africa now, some 3k miles longer journey. No protest there either, in fact there seems to be support from these activists toward these groups causing the destabilisation there. |

We do not have a nuclear power station in Ireland. Infact there was a law passed that prohibits such a thing, yet we have no qualms about importing electricity generated from nuclear power via interconnectors. The Green party here have no issue with this hypocrisy. They won't have nuclear generation here but it is O.K. for someone else to generate it by nuclear power and sell it to us.
Like wise we have no issue buying so called "green" items from China who are one of the biggest polluters in the world.
