Wiper issue
Hi and happy new year to you all.

I have an issue with my wipers, they started to get stuck so I wiggled them about and they worked again. Now they aren’t working at all but I have noise from the unit when turned on like they are stuck.
Has anyone any ideas what it could be thanks

Happy new year to you too.

There could be many issues as it’s not the most robust mechanism.

It’s likely that the wheel boxes are worn, but it’s worth you searching ‘wiper fault’ or similar on here as there are many posts.

Good luck 🤞

What model etc is it?
If it's like the 300tdi it may be the wheel boxes that have gunged up or worn to the point where the snake drive thing can't make them move. 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green - It's a keeper.

I've just fixed a similar problem with mine. It was a broken drive cable, also the park switch was broken, again, but that's a different fault. There is a cable that runs from the wiper motor to the wheel boxes, which connect to the blades outside. I think that if these corrode the teeth inside wear off, but most likely only effect one blade. I don't know what the later ones are like, but I'm guessing that they're all broadly the same. The cable can be changed without dash removal, I doubt that the wheel boxes can. Assuming that the park switch is working, you should be able to hear the motor going back and forth. Hope this helps.
