A fresh start next year for me
I think i may have mentioned i work as an injection operator, making parts for nissan cars. Anyway A few weeks ago i was looking on Google maps, to see if there was another route i could go into work, and i remembered my work mate having a look at a place, years ago, and i thought are they still there?. He didn't move over after offered a job, due to the wages been a lot weaker. But years later min wage has caught up with rate of pay of the company i worked for, plus things are very rocky there now, Due to the loss of programs and facelift. Also its not been a very smooth year for me since they moved locations and how they are treating people, so i thought sod it, i will put a CV, two days later i got a phone call, and then another one to confirm an interview.
Had a look around their factory and they make bits for Bently and ineos grenadier. Which i was like Surprised as well as aeroplanes, hospital stuff and boiler pieces. So there is a lot of work there, and the shifts are consistent. Thumbs Up walked through the interview and they liked the CV and offered me the job there and then. I accepted the job. Thumbs Up

So back at work, my Team Leader was winding me up, not in the pleasant way either, said i was useless etc, bear this in mind i am the only one that can start the line etc Very Happy i said got a new Project coming, Called project New Horizons, He said what's that?? Stuff to go on the defender? i said you will find out soon Very Happy Put my notice in and told him Project New horizons has landed Very Happy He was like Shocked I was like yep, Proctas moving forwards injection else where Thumbs Up Stirred the pot a little, with supervisors and work mates. But i am not the only one who has jumped on Project New Horizons, some have got interviews for the new battery plant Thumbs Up
So new year, new job and a fresh start. Thumbs Up Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Sounds like a positive step forward, and one away from what sounds like a pretty toxic work environment. Good luck to you, hope it all goes well.

" ....... my Team Leader was winding me up, not in the pleasant way either, said i was useless etc ..."

once when I handed in my notice, the sales director pulled me in and told me "that over the 4yrs I had achieved NOTHING !! "

To which I replied, "is that that my fault for doing it, or yours for allowing me !!!"

I moved to my next job and within 2yrs made such an impression in the company that 2 yrs later I retired at 48, yes !

Follow your own instincts.

Good Luck

Good news and good luck in your new job!

your current line manager proves how little most companies and their management think of their workforce in general, even if you've been there years! Rolling Eyes

Trying my damnest to start my own business and create an income enough to support my family and my bills while getting away from working to make someone at the top rich! its definately not a easy thing to do on your own without a pot of gold! 2008 Santorini Black 110 XS USW (Sold)
