Ad Blu
i have posted on another site as well.
2 year old d200. I have not used any ad blu in 2 years. pivi shows 8575 miles to go.
diagnostics show ad blu is overfilled
LR assist checked it out and advise go to dealer and see if any ad blu in tank
the system must think there is ad blu. if it is a sensor ,i believe it is a replacement tank
Anyone had similar issues

I saw a You Tube video once from the US where the Adblue had crystallised on the sensor and hence needed replacement.

Wife had a Discovery Sport and now on her second Velar and we haven’t had any problems.

The dealer once warned me about over filling so I use the Remote app and once it says it needs 10 litres I just order it from Amazon then wait until it says that it needs 11 litres before I empty the entire amount into it.

My new D250 started with around 8,500 miles Adblue range.

l've done 9,000 miles and it still says l have 7,000 miles Adblue range. l've never put any in the tank, l was going to put some in but after reading the above l don't think l'll bother.

l've no idea how much Adblue is left in the tank. l don't want to risk overfilling it.

Is overfilling it an actual issue?

We bunker adblue and our workshops always brim the tanks, not had any issues in the last 9 years. Whistle Ride like you stole it!!

Leam, difficult one to answer personally.

I say that because when wifey had her second Discovery Sport she had the service pack that included free Adblue fill ups.

Which in a way was a pain as I had to take time out of my day to go to the dealers and wait 30 minutes for them to do it.

To have it filled outside of a service pack they at the time were charging £36, inc VAT.

I know that some dealers weren’t happy as the rate was less than their hourly rate divided by two.

Therefore what I was told by the service bods was that their machine could precisely give the correct amount without overfilling as that can be equally as bad as letting it run too low.

As most modern owners never even lift the bonnet I can understand that they would rather make some money than not at all. Let’s face it if you can fill your own screen wash without the aid of a grown then adding your own Adblue and saving money and more importantly saving your own time travelling and waiting at the dealership.

Hence why I use the Remote app and empty a 10l bottle of Adblue when it says it needs 11l.

I always put in under what it says to I order to avoid over filing.

Interestingly my D250 uses a fraction of the AdBlue my XC90 did. I've done 20,000 miles and filled it up once. Eiger Grey MY23 D250 SE with bits. Known as Noddy.

Yes I do the same. Wait until the message comes up on the dash, at which point it needs about 12 litres and I then put in 10.

Only had to do it twice in 74,000 miles.

My D240 only had 5 litres added in 24000 miles but my D250 was delivered with more than 8500 miles range of AdBlu and now, after 6400 miles, it’s saying I have 7400 miles range left in the tank!
Is there a shelf life for Adblu as I still gave 3 bottles of the LR branded stuff sat in my garage and it’s been there since early 2021? Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

Highly unlikely that it needs a top up then..

It’s probably gone off and needs the system to be flushed through, just a guess though!

Probably, but how can it be overfilled? You have not added any…

More than likely its gone off and crystallised causing the sensor to show a fault.

Warranty job i would suggest.

I can only assume it was overfilled at the dealers, or does the factory fill it before it goes to the dealer? x series 3 88

I had some Ad blue left when filling my X3
Without thought I opened up the Defender Ad Blu cap and filled it till it overflowed.
No error message.
No problems
