The reason the indicators work, then stop working when the hazard switch is pressed is because pressing the hazard switch disconnects the (working) ignition feed to the flasher unit, and it is supposed to switch over to a (not working) permanent feed to the flasher unit.

It also connects the output from the flasher unit to both the right and left indicators, and the warning lamp in the switch and the instrument panel.

It's why the hazard switch has so many pins Smile

You are 100% missing the permanent supply to the switch (this supply shared with the interior lights - also not working). Often changing the interior light bulbs can accidentally cause a short and therefore fuse 7 to blow, also knocking out the hazards (and clock, radio, etc).

You've not mentioned if the clock and radio are affected?

LR changed this for the 2002 onwards model year, putting the hazards on their own fuse.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

That's pin 8, white/green wire which is the ignition feed (used for the indicators).

Is there power on the one next to it, pin 7, the purple/brown wire (permanent feed) - used for the hazards.

The lights will not be the issue as the indicators work!

The only one that lights up is Pin 8. I am about to buy a multi-meter. The purple/brown wire does not light up.

That’s as expected given your issue.

Have you tested for power on Fuse 7?  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

Replace the fuse, use your probe on both metal points on the top of the fuse. Do both have power?

As your clock is ok I think they probably will, so looks like a broken wire between the header and the splice.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

And it is so clean behind the switches....I guess I will be ripping apart everything to find it. Is there a good video to reference on youtube for this exploration?

Ok, how about running a positive live to pin 8 on the switch and seeing if that solves the problem. A parallel line might be a convenient solution.

So that worked but I ended up blowing the 10 Amp fuse. The interior lights work now also.
