Genuine for me, shop around. Bought and fitted by the dealer for less than £900. Covered by warranty, not that I’ve made a claim on accessories.

Not sure how you're going to need the warranty on side steps but for many the genuine JLR accessories are the way to go and l fully understand that.

Well, after 12 months l finally got around to removing the side steps and fitting them the right way round.
Having removed the tube, l found corrosion had already taken hold on the brackets. The black paint was mostly gone. This is Land Rover OE parts. It will be aftermarket for me next time. Although fortunately l got these for half price from someone who took them off their new Defender. Click image to enlarge |

I’ll be fitting the cheaper and superior versions to OEM from www.sidesteps.co.uk
No trims need removing either. Two small cuts in sill trim underneath and job done. New 90 on order for delivery in May 2024. You don't need to remove any trim to fit the OE steps.
Just fit the main bolts and not the unnecessary smaller side ones. But looking at mine after 12 months on the vehicle l would say you may as well get the £200 Ebay copies. You'll get four sets for the price of one OE set. |
