Thanks, Dan,
I think it helps that Ray's T piece is thicker than Thule's. Neatest solution that I've seen. Neil |

Ray was nice enough to make me a mount to fit a ¾" NMO antenna fitting and ship it out to the US.
Man he does great work, the materials, cuts/bend in the ¼" aluminum and fit and finish are top notch. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Can't wait to get it installed and the antenna mounted/wired up. Thanks again Ray, you are an artist/craftsman! |

I'm using one of Ray's mounts and I basically have the mount fixed to the roof rails and a Sirio Turbo 5000 aerial mounted on Ray's mount, no other earth connections or anything and I have great reception and transmitting. Hope that helps

Thanks very much, bit of a radio enthusiast and seems the best mount was on this forum. What a lovely find this community is.

Looks a cracking idea, did everyone just run the coax out of the rear door, hinge side then onto the roof?

lt's great that CB radio is still active in the USA, it's pretty much dead here except for the truck drivers who l think may still use it.

I run the cables for 2 antennas along the B pillars on both sides of the Defender inside the car. But that is a bad idea. As rain water is sliding along the cable wetting the rear carpet. I removed the cables and antennas now and go through the A pillar under the snorckel inside the car vis the grommit seal. 22MY Defender 110 (actual) | 10MY Freelander 2 (history) | 15MY Discovery Sport HSE (history) |

That's what I've done as it's only for occasional use, e.g. when I'm greenlaning in a group. Current vehicle: 2020 Defender 110S Gone: Defender 90 HT 200Tdi, Discovery Sport, Freelander 2 Insta: wizzardprang |
