I still had a dribble left from some previous paintwork done to the Defender. Restored the vice after being given it by the widow of a deceased friend from the 4x4 world and there was only one suitable colour really.

FTFY...

The grey is actually bare metal and is how the vice was supplied when new. Cleaned up really well with a bit of elbow grease and sandpaper. The last picture is how it was on arrival before the transformation, a before and after shot.

As far as I know all Record vices left the factory painted in "RAF Roundel Blue", although I suppose special orders might have been unpainted or in custom colours.

I'd have to look up the paint code for Roundel Blue, it's been a while since I bought any.

"British Racing Green" is properly "Napier Green" of course, for reasons found in the early days of motor racing.
