300Tdi full rebuild
Hey gang,

I got tired of messing about with my current engine and its headgasket issues and such, so I got an extra motor that I'm taking to the machine shop. We'll see what the verdict is but it should be a good basis for a complete rebuild. So, what are some good to know or essential to know things specific (or not) to a Tdi build?

I'll have the crankshaft tested for cracks and if the conrods and pistons are all good have it all balanced with new bearings etc. Will also have the block skimmed and a new head fitted. Injection pump has done 300 000km, time to rebuild as well? Turbo is a VNT from BAS, done some 100k, good for a refresh too?
