Alternator wireing
Loosing charge in the battery but charge light not on.

Checked alternator and the small thin wire of the three has broken off.

I can’t remember where it attaches and the clip it attached too must have broken as well.

I know that there are several versions of alternator and upgrades but there must be a common place for this wire to attach too.

Need the vehicle this week so any help would be welcome.

It’s a 200tdi.

Thanks.

Does your alternator have ring terminals or a single plug on the loom?

Red is the main battery leads - often two doubled up on earlier vehicles.

Green is the warning light, the thinner cable.
