Apparently been a bad year for claims so everyone is bumping premiums to pay for it.

They bumped my D2 from £780 to £990 I just complained and said no, its ridiculous (they didnt even argue). Dropped it back to £780.

Also interest rates, monthly premiums have jumped massively compared to annual.

Some how the insurance on my GT86 which was £500 a year, went to £800 a year after a claim then when I went to pay was only £220 Shocked

End of the day the entire industry is a corrupt scam trying to get as much money out of you as possible.

You can run the same details on Compare the Market & Go Compare youll get different prices for the same insurer. Ring said insurer and they will have a different price... Instagram @defender_ventures

48% increase on mine this year.. not just the landy but also all other cars. The chap I dealt with blamed it on inflation 😂. I then played with him for a while asking him how he calculated 9% inflation had a 48% price increase. 😂😂

I've just been speaking to my current insurer who told me that prices had gone up approximately 33%
due to it being a bad year for claims i.e. repairs and cost of courtesy cars etc.
So I said if prices have gone up by 33% how do you justify an increase of 242% on my renewal price?
Silence then ensued ........ he's now gone off to see if things can be improved!
I await the email Rolling Eyes

I struggled to get quotes below £3k for my rr with 20years no claims most common excuse was because it’s easily stolen. this is the latest model with the wide band keyless system, I tried explaining different model years have different tech but to no avail. Fully expect the same run around next year ! 110 MY23.5 X Dynamic HSE

Insurance renewal came through this morning for my D250 SE 110:

Its doubled from £1367 to £2655! Nothing has changed. Twisted Evil

So I went on line with Compare the Market. £6072 was the cheapest! The world has gone mad!

I didn't add a tracker to the BMW. Difference in premium was between £12 and £15 a year.

First time a tracker has had a material difference on my insurance to my knowledge. I don’t know what the l460s would have been without out. 110 MY23.5 X Dynamic HSE

My neighbour's has just given her new car (SUV Mini) to her daughter. Was telling me that her Daughter's DS has a few issues (DPF / Cracked sunroof) but the nail in the coffin for ownership was the massive hike in insurance this year.

Just need to point out that my neighbour doesnt really keep cars more than 6months to a year, so whilst I noted a red shiny new car a few weeks back, I hadnt realised that its has now already gone.

Never paid much more than £300 per year fully comp to date. It did increase at the last renewal by about £30 I think.

I tend to use the comparison sites and have been with a well-known name for a few years - aw yes.

Not looking forward to my renewal next year based on what I am reading!

I fear the propensity of LR products to burn down £20M car parks and destroy 1200+ cars won't help keep insurance premia under control either. Once was bad enough, but twice is ridiculous.
