Can anyone recall the GTR for the PAS pump/res?

Preping the 90 for the trip tomorrow and i noticed the res. was half empty and an oily film over the air intake (heater) the heater box etc. Also on the drive when i got back from the dealers.

Who incidently have been as good as gold they have it this afternoon (30 minutes after the call) and hopefully fix it by tomorrow before we leave Mike

Mine was losing PAS fluid but I could not find the leak. The mystery was solved when I traced the drips up along the piping to a lose nut attaching the pipe to the bottom of the PAS reservoir. Once I tightened this the leaks stopped. Had it checked by a main dealer when it was in and they said my repair was sound. Seems a lot were not fully tightened on assembly. If it leaks again just check the pipes from the reservoir- and carry some PAS fluid with you. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Thanks - did have a look along the pipe top - not to say it wasnt, but i couldnt see it.

It did seem further along and sprayed back - almost around the pump area.

Again not sure will see what they say when i get it back and hope they fixed it (but will check your fix anyway) Mike

Only way to check this is to lie on the ground underneath and look up. Any fluid on the outside of the pipe will be easily seen. It gathers where the pipe straightens out and collects in a series of drips. You will be able to see it easily enough. In the first instance pull the bonnet and prop it open, this gives more light underneath. The nuts are easily checked with your fingers with the bonnet open and any fluid will be felt. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel
