Progressive coils
We have a doubt with MK regarding the progressive coils.

The upper part of the front coils appear to be touching each other. This is OK?

see the picture.

Are yours looks similar?

Thanks Eduardo

Australia 2008 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SW Stornoway Grey
Hi Eduardo

Just went out to check mine... same deal, no progressive usable. Mine has an ARB bullbar (no winch) on the front so not entirely supprised but a bit dissapointed as this just means I need to change springs sooner. Old TD5 had ARB shocks and coils put on after I broke one rear shock. They (the ARB's) were not progressive though.

Cheers

I think that's the standard set-up.

If you completely extended the spring, you'd see that it is progressive IIRC. One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS

This is just that we are trying to confirm if this is the normal setup or not.

Thanks Eduardo

I would say the only way to check this out is by looking at a brand new unit that has not been sitting at the stealer longer than two weeks Razz

After checking other information in other sites appears to be OK as it is.
If you like to check the suspension height:

Front: 72 ± 15 mm
Rear: 130 ± 15 mm

Thanks to all. Eduardo

+/-15mm is quite a big (LR) error. Those +15 mm account probably for the separation on new springs. Puma 110" SW
