Crude Oil now under $100 per barrel, yet still pump prices are at record high, oil companies are thieving bar stewards!

0.20c USD gain against the pound, increase is approx 0.03 per litre on a barrel, still think oil companies are taking the P155 Jumped ship to reliability - Mitsubishi L200

@ Muddybigdog : I don't disagree. Quick to put up the price, but slow to drop it back down.

I was just mentioning that a 14% weakening in the £ isn't helping matters ($1.35 to $1.16), although I don't believe this is the main reason!

They have been taking the P155 since before xmas last year, it should not have even jumped up at all. From what i have seen so far, my local stations have levelled off around the 1.95 to 1.99 makers, They have all been like that since last week, Asda moved up to 1.95 and that has just stayed put, the rest still increased to 1.99 or close. Not sure if any of them dare to go into the £2 marker, as i would recon that they would start to lose customers. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

For everyone blaming the Oil&Gas companies, it is probably worth remembering that most governments rated the opinions of art students higher than actual markets and science. Hence major investments stopped in certain regions, plants phased out. High petrol prices are not an issue, problem is that everything now comes at a premium IMO.

To emphasise, these were just 2022 Q1 results...

And just to say, they aren't exactly sharing or trickling the money further down the chain to contractors, etc. despite many taking huge hits for them in the order of hundreds of millions when the barrel price fell through its backside. Stuart

I got petrol for the boat at the marina at the weekend - £2.40 a litre. They really do have you by the short and curlies so they charge a nice premium!!
