Q068 and Autologic tune
Had my Puma into the local dealers this morning to have the park brake recall P022 sorted. Thought this was just an oil seal issue so never thought to say anything about not touching the ecu software as I have an Autologic tune. Anyway, sods law, they 'helpfully' upgraded the ecu software re service bulletin Q068 at the same time. I've read the previous posts about Q068 and also K9F's problems with his Autologic tune however I'm:

a)assuming I need to have the Autologic tune refitted (or does Q068 just affect part of the ecu map?)

b)not sure if the latest Autologic tunes also incorporate the Q068 changes Land Rover have made (I think mse asked a similar question in one of his posts but I couldn't see a reply)

Has anyone had the same issue, or have any further information?

I use Autologic as a professional tool - speak to Autologic ( 01865 870050) and explain the problem and I am sure they will arrange for the tune to be re instated - - As LR bring out new software changes, Autologic incorporate these in the performance tunes - I t all depends when you had the tune put on.

If your tune was installed before June last year your tune is NOT compatable with the Q068 upgrade and the later Autologic Tune standard will most certainly have to be installed that ironed out the 'incompatability Gremlins!'

As long as you have your original Autologic Certification including the unique serial number designated when the licence was purchased for your software download, the individuals who installed it for you will reinstall it free-gratis. If you have any issues 'pm' me and I can give you the number of an individual you can call direct at Autologic who will undoubtedly sort any issues out for you!
I always inform the dealers now that under no circumstances are they to upgrade/overwrite my software and my records now state that I have an Autologic Tune installed. Doesn't matter to me any more as I am out of warranty and had two years excellent performance out of my tune (with the exception of the software incompatability issue when a total refund was offered.) Autologic invited me to their premises where I got a guided overview how they develop their software for tuning and diagnostics whilst they sorted my issues out. Informative trip and a good day out with successful results in the end!

Let me know if I can be of any assistance. Thumbs Up If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

chrisbowler & K9F - thanks for the replies - my Autologic tune was installed before June last year so first I'll go back to the guy who installed it. At least now it's clear that I need the latest tune. I'll let you know how I get on.

Cobs,

If your installer does lots of Defenders he will be well-aware of the incompatability issues with Q068 as dealers were informed not to continue installing that particular version of Autologic Tune, it went on for several weeks before it was eventually sorted. May be worth showing your dealer this thread and my previous postings on the issue should he decide to play 'hardball!'

Have sent you all the details I still have via 'pm' if you have no joy head straight to Autologic direct! Thumbs Up

Good luck! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

K9F thanks - tried Autologic but your contact out until Monday. Installer knew about Q068, only problem is Autologic operate a credits system so if the installer takes the Autologic tune off then it 'credits' him with one system which he can put back on at a later date. Of course if he hasn't taken it off in the first place................... He's going to ring Autologic tomorrow, hopefully shouldn't be a problem.
