'Heritage' Headlight Panels
Hello folks,

I know that a couple of companies (Nakatanenga, Entreq) sell kits to make TD5-onwards vehicles look like Series Land Rovers, with a plate to replace the plastic headlight finisher and the Series bezels around the lights themselves. Does anybody just sell the plates on their own? I've called them 'heritage' panels in the thread title but there doesn't seem to be a consistent name, which makes searching a bit of a challenge!

Thanks for looking. Darren

Have a scan over this thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic60980.html

The "plate to replace the plastic headlight finisher" can be had from https://uproar4x4.com/products/land-rover-...-surrounds but only as part of a 3 piece kit.

Thanks Hank. Not really what I'm looking for, unfortunately. I'm hoping to be able to just buy the plates on their own. Darren

Do you mean the series 3 bezels or the plates to cover the holes in the wing Anorak which then the series 3 surrounds sit on top?

Just the plates. I already have the Series headlight bezels. Darren

I think both Nakatanenga and Entreat do the plates on their own.

I’m guessing these panels don’t work if you have the headlight adjusters though? Something worth checking Thumbs Up

Why not? They're just flat panels that fit over the front face of the wing. Darren

Why not do what I did and try the look out for yourself, I cut out the return to the lights out of the plastic panel so that the Series bezel would fit flush, sprayed them in the colours of my choice and I've been happy with them. I've got headlight levelling and have had no issues.

Series style surrounds won’t cover the adjuster cut out.

The plates I'm talking about cover the whole of the recessed front of the wing and are designed to cover those holes. Like this:

I do like your front end, so to speak Whistle I'm just not sure I could do the painting justice to make a decent job of it. Darren

speak to Dougie at Engine 710, they've just produced their own plates and look excellent. They're currently making a heritage replica for a customer and were having the same issues finding a decent alternative - so just made what they wanted

I'm trying to find a picture of mine but can't at the moment, think it might be on my phone

The electric adjusters are under and behind the headlamp bowl anyway. Those cut outs are for headlamp washers or something.

Regarding the plates, if you can't buy them, I don't see why it wouldn't be possible to just make your own from plastic, even trim down the Defender surrounds so they fit into the wing recess.

I don't suppose a body shop would charge much to respray the standard plastic trims.
