Well my 2010 110 driver door bottom hinge has just about had it, so much play that door has dropped. not great but it is a LR.
for now i have replaced it with a std one. but it got me thinking should i be looking to fit something better/serviceable. I’ve just this week ordered a pair of hinges for the drivers door of mine as the bottom hinge is now worn enough to affect closing. It seems the lifespan for a hinge in regular use is about 8 years or so as I think I fitted these in 2009/2010.
I went for genuine ones, all the others are either ugly or very expensive. Will hopefullly fit them this weekend. A better solution in my opinion would be to modify genuine hinges to accept grease. There is a thread on this on the LR4x4 forum. |

Cheaper route... open door, drill 1.5 or 2mm hole in centre of the hinge and pump in grease with a chainsaw grease gun. You can feel the drill touch the hingepin.

I am looking at this too, I wouldn't mind the gore ones, but I am not sure how plug in play those would be. Anyone know who has them fitted? Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

I would also he interested to know if they use studs or bolts in gore ones , anyone on here have them? Cheers
