The Holiday Season has started....
Who came up with the idea of the 'tourist' and for why, for why? I blame Mr Thomas Cook.
And who then thought sticking a tourist into a car was a wise idea? Fool.
And then someone came along and thought that 'tourist in car' with all the associated bad driving, common sense failings, SatNav distractions, inability to reads maps and road signs, dangerous driving, frustrations of wives and kids etc, could be turned into 'tourist in large, white, difficult-to-manœuvre, fibreglass home on wheels'. Moron.
And now, now we have the marauding packs of 'tourist on electric bike' inevitably rented by people who never ride at home, certainly not at 20kmh in areas of high population density, most of whom are wandering like zombies as they take selfies through their smart phones. Thud

Just another six weeks (at least) to go Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry Monsieur Le Grenadier

I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list.....

I'll be in your area in September - in the Defender, no caravan and certainly no bicycle (child's toy). Rolling with laughter

I am an Englishman therefore I cannot be a foreigner anywhere in the world.

I drive a Defender therefore I cannot be labeled "tourist" anywhere in the world.

not only did I have what 'appeared' to be a tourist following but she was right up my jacksie. to make matters worse there was a youngster in the front passenger seat.

now I 'had to' apply my brakes quite sharply resulting in the tourist having to brake even harder ( Twisted Evil ). I could clearly see the shock on the young tourists face as she flow towards the windscreen followed by a look of disbelief in the direction of her mother / driver. ... yes you've guessed it a youngster circ 10 in the passenger seat with no seat belt on.

.....it's a jungle out there Evil or Very Mad

Just callin' it as I see it son.

Sadly our country is full of dangerous idiots. Of which that lady is clearly an example. However it takes a particularly special kind to deliberately endanger a mother and her child and then brag about it on the internet.....Or to attempt to defend those actions.

Was the mother not endangering her child?

Who has the primary responsibility for the child's safety?

Maybe it's because we have become a society that passes responsibility to others, rather than take it upon ourselves that this mother thought she could drive like that, and that it was someone else's responsibility to ensure her safety.

Vehicles in front often have to do an "emergency stop."

Maybe she learnt a lesson on that occasion which might save her and her child's life in future?

Caterham, do you "tailgate" slower drivers when you are in a hurry?

I hope not. Wink

I don't tailgate full stop.

I now realise my mistake. perhaps they've learnt a lesson under controlled circumstances.

they could have been involved in a collision further down the road ending in the child being killed.

I'm thinking;
dump bitch (sorry mother),
and don't you just love all the 'do gooders' out there Very Happy

.....to be honest as I know I'm perfect and always correct I knew some of the comments above were ill founded Rolling with laughter

I suspect some on here would like to see the old man than stabbed and killed that robbing scumbag a few months back should be hung, drawn and quartered. PC gone mad.

take a look in the news at how rife gun and knife crime is........ and yet decent people of the land still aren't allowed to be armed. (touchy subject I know) but I doubt things could get too much worst - might just get a whole lot better.

(above comment based on very strict controls). Mr. Green

PC - stuff that. Ner Ner

I'm currently sitting at Gatwick airport, Friday evening of a major holiday weekend, flight to Geneva delayed by an hour. Whilst this allows me to indulge in another pint of Doombar ( Thumbs Up), I've decided that instead of my next Def upgrade I'm going to buy a private jet. Whistle Monsieur Le Grenadier

It could be worse - you could be on a cruise ship that feels like a floating prison. Dining rooms off limits because you are expected to dress like a free mason and the usual greed and gluttony that comes to a head when people feel they need to over indulge because it is "free".
The things I do to keep my wife happy.
