TD5 - Fuel in the coolant!
Ok cleaver people! Question.

I have a 2004 TD5 and have diesel in the coolant system! How?

I have changed the fuel cooler and the fuel regulator and thought that would do the trick, but no!

How else can fuel get into the coolant system.

Any advice greatly received Smile

Thanks

Duncan

Are you sure the fuel cooler pipes are the right way around?
On the Puma the two are right next to one another, not sure about the TD5?

So you have diesel and coolant passing through, in separate pipes right next to one another. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

Td5 runs an internal fuel rail in the head. Worst case it could be a cracked head or head gasket. 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

If you've replaced everything where fuel and coolant interact then there isn't much else it could be I wouldn't have thought? 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Around 1000+vat but I think there is possibly some more investigation to be done first. I'm only going on a hunch Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

If the 'O' rings in the cooler haven't been correctly fitted it may still be leaking.

Did it have a new fuel cooler or seals replaced? The seals only stop coolant leaking to atmosphere, inside there is tubes which the fuels flows around, these are welded stainless which could possibly crack.
When the seals on the injectors leak you would expect oils level rising.

Kind Regards

Are you 100% sure it's fuel in the coolant, not oil? it's a Landrover thing...
