Any issues with fitment under the bonnet? How have you routed the pipework and wires (if heated)?

Could we have some more pictures please?

Any issues with motorway speeds and water not hitting the windscreen?

This is my fallback plan (have the second jet to fit) however going to see what bonnet mounted heated insulated jets might be like. I also need to upgrade the motor as a bit pathetic. Heard can swap the front motor for a rear which gives more oomph.

For placement you have to be careful about clearing the coolant tank and heater box. They aren't heated but the wires could be run the same as the pipes which run behind the heater box.

They work great at all speeds. On the motorway they soak the whole screen, even the unwiped areas. I'm on the standard pump at the moment but have considered changing to the red top rear pump for even more power Thumbs Up

I'll get some more pictures when it's light tomorrow Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Super. Many thanks Grafty. Are yours jet or fan type washers?

It is odd that people are considering bonnet mounted washer jets because they can't get defender jets to work adequately . My own set up of two defender washer jets and a red top washer pump will fire 4 jets to the top of the screen when stationary and will drench the entire screen when moving.
I did find that using new jets and replacing the rubber tubing and making sure that the tubing wasn't constricted helps greatly.

Hi Mo. I think it is the heated element that I am after most. There a good number of times in the year when the nozzles on the Defender freeze up. I can remember an inch long cornice developing off the nozzle whilst we drove one year, also the wing mirrors.

I already have the twin standard defender nozzle modification and apart from the newer one (pattern part) being entirely random in its squirt tradjectory I have always been pleased having done this. But as with all things I wonder if there is a better way...

The big advantage to bonnet mounted jets is that the water hits the screen at a much more acute angle than with standard style jets. Standard jets are very close to the screen so the wiper blades can block the flow of water mid wipe. 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon
