Yes I changed it to a discovery transfer box, but kept the 1.66. It was geared very short on the original and I happened to have the disco one handy, no Andy you don't need to be a geek but it helps, Very Happy you must however, promise not to cover it in in checker plate or paint it in a different colour. Do you need to be a geek to own one? Whistle

Hi Andy, yes you may need to be a geek to own one (never mind three Whistle ) but you have kept good company with geeks over the years, so you will fit in well!

Go on, buy one!

Thumbs Up

Here is mine. 1.8.83 1st registration to Scottish Power. Originally a 2.25 NA diesel but had already had an "upgrade" to a 2.5 NA lump when I got it. Needed a new chassis so basically I rebuilt it onto a Richards chassis and "modernised the engine and drivetrain to 300 tdi era stuff. Good as a usable farm vehicle under current traffic conditions for another 20 year. So long as it looks original I am happy. The fact that it will cruise all day at 80 and stop sharply with 3.5 tonnes on the back is a bonus Smile
Coming up to 5 years since the rebuild and has been 100% reliable. So don't be put off owning an older 110. Just make sure you do a proper job when you rebuild it.

PS the chequer plate is Scottish Power OEM fitment.

The only other challenge I have is that it needs to be Petrol or Station Wagon to be LEZ compliant.... Working towards Carry on camping!
