I manage to get around the 390 mark before the light comes on. Further I've pushed it before refueling was 420.

Shocked

I'd tentatively suggest that you're not driving it properly if you get that mileage from a tankful..... Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

Caterham is our resident frugal fuel expert Thumbs Up Its a guess at to what he'd get as he's rather good at fuel economy

Yes miles lol 400 miles is only a smidgen over 30 mpg.

Not getting old Jim just wanted to see if it was possible to get to my cousins house and back on a tank full. (Exactly 200 miles each way) the answer was yes Mr. Green 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Ahh if we're talking about long motorway runs I get more like 390 to a tank. 310-340 is normal urban driving. Ray

Fuelio is an excellent Android app to keep track of your fuel consumption.
Here are some figures of our Td5:

- average overall for the last 1,5 year is 27,2 mpg measured over 15k miles. Average fuel cost is €0,11/km.

- Drove from the Pyrenees back to Brussels on a sunny day last May. When travelling highway at 68-72 mph as pictured below (Cooper AT/3's, Hannibal roof rack, James Baroud rooftop tent and Safari Snorkel, no remap AFAIK) the Td5 guzzled between 11,5 to 12,8 liters/100km (approx 24 to 22 mpg). After a non-stop stretch of 505km (313,79m) it took 61 liters to fill the tank.

Usually though I drive calmer, 29 mpg is no exception.

- Highest consumption I have on record now is 22mpg, although I remember an extreme of 19,6mpg (14,4l/100km) once when we had to rush through the interior of Iceland.
- lowest is 31,2 mpg (9,04l)
- Longest distance between two fills is 637km/395 miles, which took 59,66 liters (30,1mpg). We mainly travelled through Norway, where speed limit is 70kph (43mph).

At Chateauroux airport, just before starting the 313 mile stretch.

Joris

Thanks all, it's seems mine maybe be drinking more than usual. Im going to follow the tips and troubleshoot my way round. It's due a service in Jan so hoping a change of filters, cleaning map, and fresh oils may help. If not it's off to the indy in the new year…

I get about 350 miles when pushing it on motorways. Did Gretna Grren to Bristol on one tank cruising at 80 with a full load of camping gear.
Current tank is on 340 miles to partway between half and quarter. So it looks like I'll get 400 put of it. All on A roads over the mendip hills.
2004 TD5 110 with remap and disco transfer box. No roof rack etc.

330 to 340 miles from my 90 - which is just under 30mpg.

That's with big wheels, a map, and discovery gearing.

Check you FPR? It seems an obvious place to start looking for a fuel leak.

Pessimists say the glass is half empty..
Engineers say the glass is twice the size it needs to be!

I'm sorry I don't believe that from a 60 litre tank
