Ok all finished to the point where I cannot go any further. But the hardest parts are sorted now. Smile

The old Head unit off my friend, which was better than nothing, But with me striking a bargin with the changer unit, I thought yeah it would be neat to bling that up, But after some serious planning and thinking, it was going to be a bit of job and half to install the changer, ( it would have been ok if it was a 110) So i decided to put the changer in the 306 instead and move the 306 head unit into the defender. I will keep my mates unit as a spare. Thumbs Up
Anyway i decided to install the wiring for the rear speakers, and to try and keep it as neat as possible. My dad ran his wiring on the chassis, to me it was a little bit of a faff on, Routing the wiring down the engine bay etc. So what i did was look out where they had installed the wiring for the front speakers, and went the same route.

I had to take the dash to bits practically Shocked You can see the green speaker wire ready to be fed to the back

i bought a mud radio tray thing, to replace the Weak old one.

All in and working

Very Happy

I will have to remove the radio and top part of the dash again to wire in the rear speakers to the ISO connector which will need to be changed. ( i may even change the front speaker wiring too with the wiring with the speakers) We will see, As i do need to replace a few items on the dash anyway. Smile starting to think should i fit the TD5 dash parts but keep the 300 TDI bincle. Just so the radio looks neater and i can move the clock there etc. Smile

Here is where the rear wires are now,
you wont see the wiring once i have county interior trims on.

Also you can just see the green wire poking out Thumbs Up

The pods are going to need to be redrilled to take the speakers, and i will need some double sided tape, ( the proper green stuff) So thats another little project Thumbs Up
The centre tray i will seal off and make pretty when i get the funds back up, as i going m3 that down. Very Happy Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Are you taking out the metal covers for the rear lights in the back so you can fit the plastic speaker pods? If you are I’d get a couple of blind pop rivets in to replace the bolt on either side of the rear panels that hold the metal covers in Thumbs Up Ray

Got my tray in at work for painting, so I cannot use the defender. Sad Also I am waiting on payday so I can move onto the rad. I think I may just go for the recore job.
I was planning on buying a new rad cage thing and bonnet catch panel thing too, but the way things have dropped off work. I will have to now wind back on Stuff like that sadly. just replace what needs replacing. Sad Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

I have got my tray back from been painted. I tell you what it is really noisy driving with out the plate or tray under the middle seat Laughing
The other thing that's biting my arse now is that I cannot sort the radiator out yet, My dads has failed its mot, we are thinking this mot tester is having a laugh here like, He has failed two of mine and now my dads. The garage I used to take it too, takes their cars there, and even they said he keeps failing them too.
So we will have to wait and see, on radiator wise. I may just go out and buy an aluminium one, due to budget reasons sadly. it wont be a brit part one! With work going down to a single shift pattern, I have lost back shift rate sadly, which was canny click for some things. ( how I got the tyres)
But I may have something on at the weekend Thumbs Up Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Well today we made progress, We dry fitted the rear anti roll bar, We had to re drill holes for the bolts to go through. But all in all its practically on. We just need to weld the brackets on now and patch up a hole on the chassis that has appeared when we had a clean off. So tomorrow it will be welded on and we will be rocking a rear anti roll bar Very Happy
No pictures taken but once the job is done I will get some, We just wanted to crack on and get rolling. Thumbs Up Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back
