Identify my oil leak
Hi

Picked up my DCPU on Friday... Have identified a few issues, the most concerning being an oil leak. It looks to be an engine mount so must be coming from above?

Any ideas of common leaks that this might be? Anything major? Can't see it from above and access looks terrible from below.

Cheers

Hmm, anything under the bonnet? Vacuum pumps (run by the aux belt, right hand side when looking at front) are pretty common but not sure if that would run down and back that far.

Evening,

I had a similar looking leak a few months ago, noticed a small patch of oil on the drive and on inspection looked very much like the picture in your post, I have extended warranty so my dealer traced it to a crack in the inlet manifold, so replaced and all sorted now Thumbs Up

Hope you get sorted mate..

I would be rather concerned if I had that much oil in my inlet manifold! Shocked

Thanks for your responses. I'm struggling to understand how it could be the inlet manifold, there should be no oil in there? Unless I'm missing something?

I remember on an old Rover I had there was a waterway that passed through the inlet manifold... possibly something similar?

A quick google hasn't resulted it much...

Admittedly the oil leak on mine was nowhere near as much as Hanks, as I make lots of long journey's I assume the oil was getting thinner and making it's way out, technician said it was uncommon for this to happen..

leak
if its a 2.2 just above there is a small 90Deg rubber turbo hose. mine had a crack in it (and a loose hose clamp) and blew oil like that. didnt notice any air noise or loss of power either. The first time it split it blew a hole about an inch long in it, i noticed that.

Wrong side for leak to be below the turbo methinks...Turbo is on the off side..That leak is on the near side..
Thats on Rh drive.

Cheers Thumbs Up
