Is the performance still good below 70mph?
With a stage 2 remap it should pull very well through the gears.
Will it rev up towards 4,000 rpm in (say) third gear?

Performance is fine lower down the Rev range, I tried to go round a bus earlier in 3rd, did the same at higher revs.

I don't know if it's worth looking into a rolling road so they can diagnose it. Changing parts can get expensive.

I've found sometimes it's better to bit the bullet and get a specialist to check it out. I tried changing all kinds on a motorcycle a few yrs back trying to get it to pull on the motorway. It turned out to be a fault rev limiter in 3rd onwards. I changed carbs and coils several times in a effort to sort it. A rolling road had it done in less than 30 mins 2014 - current ..... 2003 defender td5 90 (my car)

Do you have a way to measure the turbo pressure?
Does it get to high and the ecu goes in limp home mode?
Or does the pressure drop suddenly? Then you could have a hose problem. Roel

clearing all the fault codes first and have a run again.

I've seen that happen on the few of the Td5s that i touched. From the land of the most expensive land rover defenders on planet earth. At �125k for a XS 110 csw and you get to own it only for 10yrs! Please find me a good reason to stay on this island.
