Rear replacment LED fog and Reversing lamps
I want to replace the rectangular fog and reversing lamps for round ones. I'm thinking LED types. Any recommendations? I've found ones from Britpart, Wipac and Wipac NAS. Are these any good and whats the difference between the UK and NAS standards. Can both be used here?

Mine had the round NAS fitted as std, and I upgraded them to RDX LED's from Boltonbits (see Fleabay).

Similar price to those you have referenced and no trouble at all (RDX fitted all round).

Made quite a difference to be honest, but my originals were past their best.

I think there's plenty of general info regarding the various LED suppliers and their merits on here already.

Of course if you are trying to overcome the general poor output of the reversing lamp then it might be worth you fitting an additional 'pair' either side I.e. 2 fog, 2 reversing, or fit an additional reverse lamp above the door (relocating the rear washer). Plenty on here about that.

Just be mindful of legislation when tinkering with lights.

I also looked high and low as it were for rectanular led fog and reverse lights and came to the conclusion that if I really wanted LED then they would have to be NAS style round ones. Still like the look of the rectangular ones but I really cant complain about the performance of the Wipac LED ones. 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green - It's a keeper.

Those little Lazer (and larger) lights always get positive reviews.
I looked into aux reverse lights, there are legal wiring requirements and regarding use.
However, I never proceeded as I just didn't see the benefit worth the effort and cost to fit and mounting etc.
If you've got a pre existing cable run and mounting well then that just makes it easier, you could run wiring down to the front if you wanted to.

Lazer make amazing lights. These are meant as work lights and have a separate switch on the dash, but they double up as great reversing lights when needed. I have to be careful where I use them though as they would blind everyone. Not a problem out here in the country though and saves me reversing into a ditch or off a mountainside. I have Lazer ST-4s and RS-4s plus a Triple R-24 on the front. It has to be seen to be believed, crazy crazy light. Thumbs Up The Triple R-24 also has a separate dash switch to keep things legal.

If you like things symmetrical, I’ve been really impressed with these dual LED units. Reverse is really bright:

Quite pricey though Sad and, unless you want to cut the bodywork, you'll also need the plinths and (in my case at least) a couple of large rubber o rings - see 3rd pic)

Cheers!

Purely Metal do the tailgate hinges. Pretty sure there was a little article about them in LRO recently.

Riverboy - Assume you have roof spots then? If so similar rules to here then regarding switching... Thumbs Up

CY88 - Interesting solution! Not seen those before, allow you to do the double up mod but not add extra units to the rear.

I wouldn't say they are particularly expensive, ordinary LED versions are about £25 each so if you wanted 4x of those..

Yes, well one Triple-R 24 on the front of the roof rack which when switched on will come on with high beam, however it's not road legal so has an on/off switch on the dash. Two rear ones only come on via their dash switch. The RS-4s and ST-4s are road legal so come on with high beam, although if I could do this again, I'd only have one pair come on with high beam because all four are a bit too much I think.
