It is interesting to consider for a moment the cost of tyres.

The last set of four BFG MTs I bought cost me approx £500 fitted and balanced, and lasted approx 100,000 miles, or £1 per 200 miles.

Before I bought my Disco 2 I had a Rover 420. In 100,000 miles that needed 16 pairs of front tyres and 8 pairs of rear tyres, and the tyres were approx 140 each. Total £6720 for tyres alone, or £13.44 per 200 miles.

Not everything about a 4x4 is expensive!
