Hi guys,
Does anyone know if you can get TDCI style switch holders/sockets as a one off or bank of say 3? I'm trying to think how to mount some switches onto.....something but don't want to buy a centre dash and destroy it to get out a few small bits of plastic. I'm trying to avoid using carling switches because I just don't like the look of them Anyone know what I'm on about? Didnt fcx fit 3 switches in a cubby box that fitted in a puma style bezel with puma switches

Thats the sort of thing
The switches seem to click into some sort of holder/housing/socket thing. I'm after that bit. Not to be confused with the likes of a mudpod or anything like that, its the thing that the actual switch goes into. We use the parts from a genuine puma dash which is what Shaggy is trying to avoid and the minimum is three unfortunately. I did have a lead on individual holders, I'll chase it up and report back |

Hit the nail on the head there Buckblu
I'm trying to find a way of adding some genuine buttons in a way that looks well placed rather than the usual Carling switches for everything everywhere approach which seems to plague early defenders. I've seen that, unfortunately i think its too wide for my cubby box, I have an early exmoor trim locking cubby, which is wider and has a shorter cup holder, thanks for the heads up though  |

The TD5/Puma switches are based on the D2 switches - in fact, the TD5 Defender's heated seat switches are the same ones, as fitted to pre-facelift D2s.
So, yes, the Defender switches will fit the D2 carrier. Depending on which Defender switches you use, you may have to remove the switch's body keyway, so that it will fit into any position - Click image to enlarge . Been looking for something like this, great tip on the Disco item, £10 on the Bay at the moment, will get one to play around with. Feel better about cutting one of those up rather than a full defender panel.
