The alternator is closer and seems an easier option ?

Personally i would run back to battery as i would preter a connection with no vibration

running to battery also mean you can get a fuse closer to connection

The landrizeiger kits recommend using the alternator - that's good enough for me.

What I want to work out is the neatest way to run from there to the back of the light, where to mount the relays, and then the beat route for the loom to pass across to the other wing.

No thats normal voltage

its the voltage drop due to weak wiring you want to get rid off

Virtually all car accessory shops (inc Halfords) sell them, as do all the online retailers such as Vehicle Wiring Products.

See here

Not at all hard to find!

They seem to be unbelievably rare if you mean the metal tag holder that allows the relay to clip to them and then you can screw or bolt them to a panel. If you mean the female holders that the relay slots into they are everywhere as the above post says, but not the little plastic or metal tag clips that allows you to fix the relay somewhere. I have been looking for some for ages and cannot locate them anywhere. The only supplier I was able to find was in China and you had to order five thousand. Hi Blackwolf

Its the clips that allow you to fix them somewhere on the body work, like a little metal L bracket. I cant find them but will look on the website you provided. Halfords couldn't help ?

Cheers
