As above however it may be a good idea to read the very informative pages in the link below as depending on the age of your caravan you may have to alter the wiring to some of the pins.

if its a genuine wiring loom or has the plug fitted ( plug for connection to car ) the socket is up behind the flat under wheel arch on drivers side at the back that will give you light connections but not feeds to caravan
depends on what comes in the kit , but if your wiring up for a caravan feed etc as well you need other connection can you post a pic of the kit you got it will make explaining a lot easier |

ok , main light connections as said should be up behind flat in wheel arch
caravan connection are normally done in battery box , so wiring needs to be run up to there ( there are rubber gromets in the side of battery box ) for caravan normally you need 1x perm live so that wire connects VIA FUSE straight to battery , and 1x ign switched live that's what the yellow relay is for and you need to get a switched ign feed to battery box or it may be easier to get a voltage sensing relay something like a smartcom split charge relay ( about 20 quid ) , they come with wiring diagram etc that way it would save having to find a wire underbonnet or dash to get a switching feed to yellow relay all sounds easy BUT as you say you don't know about electrics it could be time to find a auto electrcian or tow bar fitter to do electrics as you want it safe and reliable but that's your decision to make maybe do the donkey work yourself as they say and get connections done by someone else if you want to keep cost down |

The not difficult bit (and it's not difficult) is splicing into an ignition fed live behind the dash, from the heated rear window switch. An engine to TDi for!

^^ yes agree with above post
but using a smartcom split charge means no running wires to battery box or dash work |
